Why Mountain Mint Chip?
Mountain mint is an easily grown plant; it succeeds in most well drained soils, including dry ones, and prefers a sunny position, like our Mt. Hood Ice Cream customers.
We were intrigued to learn that Oregon leads the nation in mint extract production, followed by Washington and Idaho. These three states also happen to be our beloved customer base. Smaller amounts grow in Montana, Michigan, Indiana, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
Mint harvesting begins in mid to late summer, at the same time when our customers are enjoying the beautiful great Northwest outdoors and their favorite Mt. Hood Ice Cream flavor.
